One of my favorites in Los Angeles! I eat at Dave's allot and always see different friends in there. I recently took a bunch of great photos for Dave and decided to share a few with you guys. Dave's Roesmary's Turkey is one of his most popular sandwiches. It starts with fresh baked rosemary bread, then they pile on turkey, avacado, tomato, Monterey Jack, mozzarella, spicy mustard & mayo. The hot hippy is one of my favorite vegetarian sandwiches in Los Angeles. It has hummus, grilled onions and Dave's Hotts Peppa spread that makes everything their taste amazing.

My Top 3 Sandwiches in Los Angeles
There are three sandwich shops in the greater Los Angeles area that I swear by.
1. Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery in Santa Monica
Bay Cities has a wide assortment of every imported Italian goodie you might want. With all the choices at Bay Cities I'll help you narrow it down to my favorite sandwich, THE GODMOTHER. Let me tell you it deserves to be in all caps. They pile genoa salami, mortadella coppacola, ham, prosciutto and provolone on a house baked roll. Make this your last stop before you hit the beach. It gets a little busy so give yourself some time it might take a while.
2. Dave's Chillin-N-Grillin in Eagle Rock
Proprietor Dave Evans has been churning out the best sandwiches in the Northeast for almost nine years now. While I'm a fan of everything he makes the turkey melt deserves special recognition. With fresh baked bread, sliced whole turkey, tomatoes, mustard and mayo Dave turns the basics into something special. If your not in the turkey mood, try anything else and expect the same great flavor.
3. Langer's in MacArthur Park
It doesn't get anymore old school than Langer's Delicatessen. Founded after World War 2 in a predominately Jewish neighborhood Langer's quickly became a staple for east coat ex pats. In the late 50's they added a pastrami sandwich labeled the Original #19, onto the menu. The #19 is hot pastrami, cole slaw, a slice of swiss cheese & Russian dressing on a hot crispy Rye. While everything around Langer's has changed completely over the last 65 years the #19 is still exactly the same.

More Pics from Instagram
Here are some random photos from my Instagram, Parkereaglerock is my handle.
These are some late night chicken waffles I got from Uncle Andre's BBQ. The chicken was really good, juicy in the middle with a great shake & bake style crust that reminds me of grandma's. The waffle on the other hand arrived cold. My other problem with this place was, it took 30 minutes for my meal to be ready and there was no one else there.
This is from Tomo Sushi in Burbank. I really only like to eat rolls when it comes to sushi, was never a fan of the raw stuff. This place is a nice little place that has been in Burbank forever.
This giant slab of prime rib still connected to those giant beef ribs is from Samba, a Brazilian BBQ place at the Universal City Walk. The food was amazing, there must be 20 different cuts of meat. Worth a try for sure.
My favorite Mulitas!!! From Gus's Lunchbox!!
A cup of Handsome coffee, black as always.
Strawberry Rhubarb pie and a cup of Stumptown at Republic of Pie in North Hollywood. This is a super cute little place, worth checking out for sure.

Wicked Clam Pop Up

That's right Dave Evans is opening a seafood restaurant. I'm addicted to the sandwiches he slings in Eagle Rock and can't wait to see what this East Coast bad boy comes up with. The Colorado Wine Company is owned by the same owners as Sunset Beer Co and has the same great relaxed energy.

UPDATE: The Wicked Clam pop up was a huge success yesterday, I'll post a story tomorrow!

Dave's Chillin-N-Grillin
If you live in Eagle Rock then you know Dave's Chillin-N-Grillin! Dave's is a phenomenal east coast style sandwich shop. Dave is from Mass and is a die hard Patriots & Sox fan, this is obvious from the posters and hats everywhere. Dave has an infectious energy about him and will always take a few minutes to talk about sports or some other wild thing going on at the moment. The real reason your reading this is because of the food. Dave's is not one of those places where you go to eat that one thing you really like, Dave's has a dozen things you will LOVE! I have allot of favorites, the first is the french dip melt. The beef is cooked in au jus while two cheeses are grilled on some amazing fresh baked bread. When the meat is ready it's thrown on the bread with a few slices of tomato and a homemade horseradish mayo. Speaking of homemade, Dave's makes a back east style Peppa spread(the Hotts) that goes great on everything. Dave's started bottling the Hotts and now it can be taken home and put on anything your heart desires. Dave also has weekly specials, Thursday is the Pilgrim(turkey, stuffing, gravy & cranberry) Wednesday is the pulled pork with a Bourbon BBQ sauce. The tuna melt at Dave's pops up on Google if you search "best tuna melt in LA", so that's one more to try. Other favorites include the pastrami, rosemary turkey, meatball sausage combo & the hot hippy.
Check out Dave's you will not be disappointed.

Kansas City BBQ in North Hollywood
There are allot of things I love about Kansas City BBQ, a NOHO favorite of mine for the last 6 years. The first is the sliced beef brisket, I suggest the sandwich, it's a ton of meat packed between three slices of white bread. For a side I suggest the steak fries and the beans(the beans also have brisket in them). They have two sauces a mild and a spicy, both have an amazing flavor that I never get tired of and pour on everything. Another great thing about Kansas City is the price. It shouldn't cost you 20 dollars to eat well, 14 bucks fills me and a friend up every time. They also have a bar that's a great place to grab a beer with some NOHO locals and watch the Lakers play. When it comes to LA BBQ, I put KC around 3rd or 4th, but that's still pretty good. Check out Smoke City Market or Bludsoes for the next level stuff.
